Straight left to the body from Ray. Ray circling to the power side of Pearson. Ray trying to establish jab. Ray inside leg kick. Ray head kick blocked. Ray continues to land inside leg kick. Pearson body kick blocked. Ray switch head kick blocked. Pearson body kick lands. 30 seconds left, Rays shoots for a double. Ray picks him up, and slams him on the mat. Pearson eats a knee as he gets back up. Ray 10 – 9.

Rd 2 – Ray head kick blocked. Ray doing well to maintain distance, whilst being active. Ray landing kicks. Pearson body kick sneaks through but almost caught. Ray shoots against the cage, Pearson defends, they break. Pearson not throwing anything. Ray 1 2 lands. Inside leg kick continues to land for Ray. Pearson lands a left hook to the body. Kick to the head lands or Ray as Pearson ducks his head. Pearson body kick caught. Ray 10 – 9.

Rd 3 – Pearson still walking forward and Ray circling well. Overhand left clips Ray. Power inside leg kick lands for Pearson. Ray throwing more precise strikes, though neither fighter is showing any volume or power. Majority of Rays kicks have been blocked, but hes been more active. Head kick blocked for Pearson. Ray 10 – 9. Rd 1 was the most decisive, though every round was close.

JULY 2016 – VS JORGE MASVIDAL

RESULT – LOST VIA 3 RD UD

Analysis
Rd 1 – Pearson took this fight on 3 weeks notice following decision loss to Will Brooks. Rd 1 –Pearson pushing the pace early with his boxing, throwing but not really landing. Pearson showing good head movement. Masvidal fighting long and tall, keeping out of the pocket. Excellent use of the jab by Masvidal. Pearson catches the leg kick, and tries to go to the ground with Masvidal, Excellent scramble then reversal to the cage by Masvidal, knees follow.
Rd 2 – Pearson appearing a little frustrated with his inability to connect. Masvidal hurts him with left hook, dropping Pearson. Masvidal moves in battering Pearson, oh what a beating, Pearson scrambles, Masvidal slams him back down, Pearson scrambles again and manages to circle out. Masvidal looking tired after that, too relaxed Pearson comes forward. a weak leg kick, Pearson catches, and trips Masvidal to the ground, no damage is done however, Masvidal back up.

Rd 3 – Masvidal displaying good body movement. Straight boxing from these 2 in the final round. Pearson has really bloodied Masvidals inside lead leg, but isn’t working it enough. Pearson continues to throw lead left hook, but to no avail.

JULY 2016 – VS WILL BROOKS

RESULT – LOST VIA 3RD UN DEC

Analysis
Rd 1 – Leg kick for Pearson. Low kick then body kick for Brooks. Almost catches Pearson’s kick. Brooks changing stance. Step in knee from Brooks. Body kick almost caught by Pearson. Brooks thighs are huge., Benson like. Brooks almost gets the trip takedown. Brooks pressuring against the cage. They break, nothing landing. Brooks shoots again, nada. Brooks 10 – 9.

Rd 2 – Both fighters still establishing a jab. Knee to the stomach and 1 2 from Brooks. Brooks explodes into a trip takedown into guard. Pearson struggling to get back up as Brook controls doing minimal damage. Pearson now controlling Brooks against the cage. Brook reverses. Knee and hook to the body land for Brooks. Brooks 10 – 9.

Rd 3 – Quick hands from Pearson land on Brooks. Brooks looks a but unsteady. Takedown stopped but Brooks. Another left hook connects for Pearson. Pearson sprawls and stops the takedown. Another big knee by Brooks to the body. Pearson displaying the better head movement. Both men happy to stand in the pocket. That left hook definitely hurt Brooks. Pearson now pouring it on a stagnant Brooks against the cage. Short elbows and punches to the body. Pearson 10 – 9.

Analysis
Rd 1 – Pearson the aggressor. Head kick blocked. They exchange hard kicks. Straight left connects for Trinaldo, well timed. Pearson connects with an overhand right. Another Solid body kick lands for Pearson. Solid leg kick lands also. Trinaldo seeking to land straight lefts a lot atm. A couple times knees land for Trinaldo. High kick looks to stun Pearson. Oh wow, with 5 seconds left Trinaldo takes the back and HULK SMASHES Pearson to the mat OUCH!. Close round.

Rd 2 – Trinaldo timing his power kick well now. Body kick lands for Pearson. Trinaldo trying to be more aggressive. Pearson gets the trip takedown, as the clinch. Pearson into guard, able to land 1 good punch, before Trinaldo scramble back to his feet. Spinning back kick to the head lands for Pearson – I KNOW RIGHT!. Trinaldo closes distance with a fast 4 punch combo, and lands another good knee to the head as Pearson tries to avoid. Uppercut counter lands for Pearson. Trinaldo still able to control against the cage. Finally they separate. Trinaldo lands a solid knee, more good work in the clinch. Left high kick is blocked by Pearson. Pearson jab and left hook looks to hurt Trinaldo.
Rd 3 – High kick blocked. Uppercut lands for Pearson but Trinaldo clips him with a stern left hook that for sure hurts Pearson, who stumbles back to the cage. Trinaldo does some more work in the clinch, before they separate. Pearson showing good lateral movement to avoid punches. High kick gets through Trinaldos defense and then a left. Trinaldo head kick lands, but Pearson catches after impact, and trips Trinaldo to the mat. Pearson briefly in guard, trying to pass, cant and Trinaldo is back up. Trinaldo looking tired, not wanting to engage, continuing to back away and circle out. Right hook catches Pearson on the counter.
