Analysis
Rd 1 – Osp is in the southpaw stance. Krylov comes out in the orthodox stance. Osp quickly takes the center but Krylov opens the fight with a couple of kicks to the body. Krylov is the aggressor early. He moves in and lands a quick one-two! Osp spots the danger on the feet and shoots for the single leg. Osp scores the takedown but Krylov is back to his feet. 1st min in, Krylov is fighting against the fence. He shoots for the guillotine choke! Osp defends the submission and scores another double leg takedown. Osp has a hard time establishing top control. Krylov finds his way up. He is controlling the neck of Osp. He shoots for the guillotine choke once again! Osp defends but finds himself against the fence. Krylov is putting strong pressure on Osp. He takes the body lock and scores the takedown. However, Krylov is right back on his feet. Both fighters are bursting a lot of energy early. Halfway in Krylov reverses the clinch position. He trips Osp but Osp finishes in the top position. Krylov is busy from the bottom. He is constantly scrambling. Osp takes the half guard and steps right into the full mount! Big elbows are landing for Osp! Krylov is in trouble! Krylov establishes the forward pressure and lands a big right hand! Osp absorbs and initiates the clinch against the fence. Krylov is looking for separation. Osp is working for a takedown. 1st min in, Krylov is defending well. Krylov reverses the clinch position and shoots for a double leg takedown. Analysis
Rd 1 – Both fighters are in the orthodox stances. Reyes immediately opens the fight with a hard leg kick! Both fighters are exploding with the powerful kicks early. Reyes starts pressuring forward. Osp switches to the orthodox stance now. Reyes moves in and lands a hard kick to the body. He is looking to empty the gas tank of Osp. Osp is patient. A big step in left straight lands for Reyes! 1st min in, Reyes is looking sharp early. Osp is still searching for his timing on the counters. Osp starts throwing faints. Reyes explodes but fails to connect with the punches. Osp shoots for the takedown. Reyes defends but finds himself against the fence. Reyes separates and initiates the clinch. Reyes is landing nice knees to the body. Osp has enough and he reverses the clinch position. He level changes but starts eating nasty elbows from Reyes! Halfway in, Osp explodes and trips Reyes down to the mat. Osp fails to establish the position and Reyes is back on his feet. Osp continues with clinch control. Reyes takes the under hook and reverses the clinch position. Reyes separates and lands a couple of big left hands! Osp is in trouble! Reyes explodes and lands a nasty uppercut! Rd 2Osp slowly takes the center but eats an inside leg kick. Reyes takes the outside position. Both fighters are flat-footed. Osp lands a couple of sidekicks to the body. Reyes is timing the entry. Reyes is looking calm and relaxed. 1st min in, he times the next kick and lands a right hand. Osp closes the distance but eats a hard knee to the body. Osp follows with the clinch but Reyes reverses the position. They are fighting for the under hooks. Reyes takes the body lock and starts working for a takedown. Reyes separates and takes the center. He fakes the right hook and connects with a hard kick to the body! He is very fluid on the feet. Osp tries to move forward but eats a hard left hook. Halfway in, Osp wakes up and lands a nasty kick to the body! Reyes has felt that one for sure! Reyes is doing a good job of following the kicks with the punches in this fight. He is out landing Osp. He is looking to lands a single punch knockout. Reyes is keeping his distance well. Osp connects with a stiff jab. Reyes moves in and lands a nasty leg kick. Osp closes the distance and they both exchange punches. Good left hand over the top lands for Osp. He explodes guns blazing but eats a hard uppercut coming in! Pedro moves in with a kick but eats a counter right hand. Osp follows with another kick to the body but Pedro responds with a head kick and partially lands! Both fighters are looking sharp early. Pedro establishes the forward pressure. Pedro explodes with another head kick and lands! He follows with the right hand and Osp goes down!!! Osp desperately dives for a takedown but ends up in the guillotine choke! 1st min in, Osp defends but starts eating nasty elbows against the fence! Pedro is controlling Osp against the fence. Osp trips Pedro but fails to score a takedown. Pedro continues with the pressure against the fence. Pedro is working for a takedown. Osp is defending well. It looks like he has recovered. Pedro trips Osp but ends up in the bottom position! Osp explodes with the hammer fists! Halfway in, Osp takes the half guard position and he is looking to isolate the arm!!! RESULT – WON VIA 2ND RD SUB VON FLUKE CHOKE

Analysis
Rd 1 – Okami shoots for the single leg immediately and OSP stuffs it. OSP controls as he wraps up Okamis neck. 1 min in. OSP looks to setup the von fluke choke, hands are clasped together behind Okamis back, he moves to side and Okami is out cold!!! Amazing skill. His 3rd Von Fluke choke.

APRIL 2017 – VS MARCOS ROGERIO DE LIMA

RESULT – WON VIA 2ND RD SUB VON FLUKE CHOKE

Analysis
Rd 1 – OSP looking nimble on his feet as he avoids a couple De Lima power kicks low and high. De Lima does land a hard kick to the calf then body. OSP content to circle as De Lima presses with kicks. 1 min in. Much the same De Lima all kicks, majority swinging and missing. 2 mins in. De Lima catches OSP at the end of a couple straights. Halfway. De Lima continues to press and land,OSP unable to get anything going, just moving and cutting the off angle, but not throwing. OSP body kick blocked. 90 seconds to go. 1 min to go. OSP not interested in engaging. When he does its De Lima that lands the harder punch, a left hook that gets OSP attention. OSP shoot, De Lima stuffs and lands a hard leg kick dropping OSP. He’s back up. Body kick lands for De Lima. Solid jab lands for OSP.10 – 9 De Lima.
Rd 2 – OSP lands to time his jab De Lima counters with a hard leg kick. OSP feigning the takedown. De Lima fires a high kick, OSP catches and rushes him to the mat and into De Limas guard. 30 seconds in. OSP lands a couple short elbows. He stands up and reenters the guard. De Lima trying to scramble but OSP controls. De Lima trying to control the neck of OSP. OSP sinks in a von fluke choke they remain in it for a while, no scrambling, but I guess OSP was squeezing tighter and tighter as De Lima is forced to tap.

FEBRUARY 2017 – VS VOLKAN OEZDEMIR

RESULT – LOST VIA 3RD SD

Analysis
Oezdemir on short notice. Rd 1 – Leg kick lands doe OEZDEMIR. Head kick blocked. Jab and kick misses. Closes distance with punches. Another thaeas head kick blocked. OEZDEMIR closes distance. He used his head kick and jab. OEZDEMIR instigates the clinch against the cage. OSP able to scramble out. OEZDEMIR inside leg kick lands. OEZDEMIR continues to walk OSP down. OSP counters with a left, but OEZDEMIR connecting with the inside leg kick and punches. OSP straight left lands. Front kick blocked. OEZDEMIR closes distance, instigates the clinch against the cage. OSP showing good balance, but OEZDEMIR controlling against the cage. They break. No urgency to OSP. OSP countering well with uppercuts. Jab lands again for OSP. OEZDEMIR continues to target the legs. OEZDEMIR continues to pressure and connect with punches high and low. OSP clinches OEZDEMIR against the cage to stop the onslaught and end the round. 10 – 9 Oezdemir.
Rd 2 – OSP coming forwards being the aggressor. Already throwing more as a strong body kick and punches are blocked. OEZDEMIR stats to pressure, and takes the fight tot eh cage landing an overhand and having other punches blocked. OSP takedown, but OEZDEMIR defended well, and was only momentarily down. OEZDEMIR reverses well and they exchange strikes. OEZDEMIR continues to target OSP Lead leg. OSP continues to change stance. Both fighters already seem fatigued. Leg kick right punch lands for OEZDEMIR. OSP continues to establish jab. OEZDEMIR slowly walking him down. Uppercut and a couple overhand left lands for OSP pushing OEZDEMIR back. Counter left is ducked under by OEZDEMIR. Body kick blocked from OEZDEMIR. OSP lands a strong left to the body. Left hook lands for OEZDEMIR. OSP struggling to stay away from the cage. OEZDEMIR comes forward again forcing OSP to the cage with his strikes. Overhand left lands for OEZDEMIR. OEZDEMIR has considerably slowed down. Counter uppercut lands for OSP. Thy exchange strikes to end the round. 10 – 9 OSP.
Rd 3 – OSP immediately forced back to the cage with BO pressure and strikes. OSP reverses position and shoots for a takedown. VP defends. OSP lands a nice knee and some strikes. OEZDEMIR responds. OSP is always exposed. Hands low. OSP head kick blocked. OEZDEMIR comes forward with strikes. OSP shoots for a double, OEZDEMIR defends again. OEZDEMIR striking is so sloppy now, but OSP continues to get tagged. OSP only looking to counter. OSP lands a bid right. OEZDEMIR responds with a left OSP 1 2 landing. Straight right lands for OSP. Hes had the better jab throughout. OSP tagging a very tired OEZDEMIR, straights are landing. Lead uppercut lands for OEZDEMIR. OEZDEMIR recklessly comes forward, missing OSP completely. Strong body shot lands for OSP as he pushes forward. Another strong body shot makes OEZDEMIR gasp, and he immediately lands a straight left. OSP closes distance and gets OEZDEMIR against the cage. OEZDEMIR lands counter strikes. A couple more left lands as they stumble to the center of the octogen. OSP comes back big left hook, uppercut, right hook all land flush, and OEZDEMIR is against the cage taking damage. Left hook, right hook, body shot, OEZDEMIR finally gets off the fence. Another minute and OEZDEMIR would of died of exhaustion. OSP 2 mins.. 10 – 9 OSP. Extremely close fight.

OCTOBER 2016 – VS JIMI MANUWA

RESULT – LOST VIA 2ND RD KO PUNCH

Analysis
Rd 1 – Straight left misses for OSP. Hard low leg kick. Hard body kick blocked. OSP clinches against the cage. Unable to get under hook or takedown. Decent leg kick by OSP. Manuwa with the body kick. They clinch this time Manuwa instigating. Good knees in the clinch. OSP wildly coming forwards. OSP gets the takedown, takes the back and has 1 hook in. OSP loses top position, Manuwa back up, OSP shoots again, gets the TD, but Manuwa locked in a choke on the way down. OSP escapes without too much danger. OSP has the back again. Not doing any real damage.
Rd 2 – OSP mixing up his shots. Manuwa connects big. Great left hook then left head kick. OSP shoots in for a double. Cant get it. Manuwa throwing power. Swinging left hook misses for OSP. Solid head kick partially blocked from Manuwa. Digging body shot by Manuwa/ Manuwa really upping it and connecting. OSP hands are so low. Huge overhand right and OSP is stumbling, his legs are gone and BANG left hook to the head and OSP is down out cold.

APRIL 2016 – VS JON JONES

RESULT – LOST VIA 5RD UN DEC

Analysis
OSP 3 weeks notice. Rd 1 – spinning back to the body by Jones. Hands high from Jones. Oblique kick by Jones. Front kick to the head by Jones misses. OSP not offering much. Hopping side kick to the body by Jones. OSP continues to change stance. Body kick OSP Jones almost catches. Spinning back kick to the body lands again for Jones. Nice Jab by OSP, Jones responds the knee to the body.
Rd 2 – Jones closing the distance. Jones catches the leg. But OSP displays good balance avoids the TD. Jones looking looser, throwing more and connecting more. OSP throws this stupid side punch, does Sweet FA. Left jab lands again for OSP. Left body kick by Jones forces them to the cage, and Jones in the clinch lands a few elbows. Straight right from OSP lands flush on Jones. Swing and a miss from OSP, because of an excellent timed oblique kick. Jones lands with another spinning attack to the head. OSP looking lethargic but lands a big right hand. Jones ends the round with a wheel kick.
Rd 3 – Body kick by OSP. Another left jab lands. Jones fires back his jab. Spinning elbow skims off OSP head. OSP standing with Jones. Jones doesn’t have fundamentals to his striking game. OSP check another kick to the calf. Great high kick by Jones. Double jab straight right for OSP. Jones 4 body kicks land.
Rd 4 – OSP lands a good body kick. OSP looking looser. Jones gets him against the cage, locks hands, big takedown, OSP scrambles and back up. Jones hunting, nice elbows as OSP backs up. Jones with another takedown and into side. Jones trying to pin the arm down, struggling too but still able to get off nasty short elbows. Jones doing damage.
Rd 5 – Slow stand up. Individual shots being thrown, Nice left by jones. Nice spinning back kick to the body by Jones. OSP constantly circling, biding his time. Uppercut lands for Jones. BIG takedown! Jones lets OSP back up. OSP offering no offence. Jones controlling against the cage. OSP almost in a defensive shell.

FEBRUARY 2016- VS RAFAEL CALVACANTE

RESULT – WON VIA UN DEC

Analysis
Apparently after the Glover fight, Invested a lot of time in his wrestling.
Rd 1 – Left kick to the body from OSP. OSP limping, from a checked kick. OSP having to change stances, in a lot of pain and Feijao is targeting. Not much action. Feijao staying on the outside unwilling to engage. Good overhand by Feijao when SP looks to close the distance. OH HES ROCKED HIM – Feijao is down from overhand left. OSP moves into guard, does some more damage, before the bell.
Rd 2 – Not much action. OSP trying to push the pace, Feijao happy to sit back. OSP starting to recover from foot injury. Feijao with good right hand. Feijao down from having his feet caught in an awkward positon and OSP almost pushes him to the floor. OSP immediately moves into guard. OSP doing damage whilst controlling.
Rd 3 – Feijao more awake and now pushing the pace swinging, connect with 1 or 2. OSP hands remain very low. Feijao stops the TD. OSP Swinging a couple, Feijao covers up and OSP easily gets the TD. OSP controlling, though not looking to change position or do much damage. OSP almost gets the finish in the end with hammer fists.

AUGUST 2015 – VS GLOVER TEIXEIRA

RESULT – LOST VIA 3RD RD RNC

Analysis
Rd 1 – Front kick from OSP immediately countered looking for a single then double and gets it. Now into half guard. Excellent work by OSP to create space. Big left leg kick to the body, Rocks Glover who stumbles back to the cage. OSP landing bombs as Glover looks for the takedown. OSP goes to the body again and Glover gets the takedown. Easy transition to mount and is Glover is now the dropping shots. OSP gives up his back, but OSP able to scramble back up. OSP able to display his athleticism. Glover with 3rd td of the round, OSP again giving up his back, and able to reverse Glover and is now looking for a Von Fluke choke. As they stand OSP throws the uppercut. OSP with the shot, stopped by Glover.
Rd 2 – Body kick from OSP. Glover coming forward throwing hooks, another takedown, but OSP explodes back to his feet. OSP hands are low. In saying that 2 good body shots by Glover. OSP circling, Glover shoots in and easily gets double leg slam. OSP doing well to prevent Glover raining down shots. Glover being very conservative but controlling OSP. OSP looking for a half guard sweep. OSP finally able to get up but only 30 secs of the round left. OSP with a nice flurry of punches at the end.
Rd 3 – OSP with the shot, stopped. Glover with good hooks to the head against the cage. OSP circles out. Glover with double unders again and another big takedown into half guard. Now mount, and raining down big shots. OSP again gives up his back and Glover sinks in the RNC AND SQUEEZES till OSP is out.

APRIL 2015 – VS PATRICK CUMMINS

RESULT – WON 1ST RD PUNCHES

Analysis
Rd 1 – Cummins staying on the outside. Body kick by OSP. Head kick, Cummins ducks and looks to plat OSP on his ass. OSP scrambles and immediately back up. Another shot by Cummins, and OSP scramble to the cage this time. Cummins controlling. They separate. Takedown stopped this time. OSP favours the front kick to the stomach and uppercut. Double unders from behind and a BIG SLAM by Cummins, but OSP immediately back up. Good scramble by OSP. Straight right from Cummins lands. OSP winging the left hand and connecting. OSP wild with his hands, sloppy. Cummins closes distance lands a nice straight. OSP shoots for a single leg, doesn’t get it. Cummins looks so tired, oh he eushes in and OSP connects with a left uppercut. Hammer fists and hes out!

FIGHTER THINGS TO NOTE

  • Osp is a talented well-rounded fighter with very good grappling skills.
  • He is the Brazilian jiu-jitsu brown belt under Rafaello Oliveira.
  • Osp has decent standup skills. Je mostly relies on his kicks from the southpaw stance.
  • However, his kickboxing defense is poor as seen against Reyes.
  • He clearly lacks the head movement and footwork as seen against Reyes.
  • Osp is always calm and focused. He is able to survive the early storm and catch his opponents later as seen against Pedro.
  • His submission offense is very good. He is constantly threatening with the submissions as seen against Pedro.
  • As of the Krylov fight, he was the only fighter in the UFC to finish 3 times with a Von Flue choke.
  • Osp has a hard time fighting against the fence as seen against Kyrlov and Pedro.
  • His cardio was bad against Kyrlov. He was slowing down in the first round!
