RESULT – LOST VIA 3 RD SD

Analysis
Rd 1 – Alessio lands a pair of good right hands, grabs a leg kick and lands another right that hurts his McLellan. Now pressing him against the cage, landing knees and short strikes. They break and he catches a body kick and lands a good right hand. Exact same thing happens 25 seconds after. Alessio lands a couple counters which isn’t difficult as his opponent turns his whole body before throwing… They throw wild strikes and Alessio is cut.
Rd 2 – McLellan gets the takedown. Alessio reverses it and attacks with elbows that hurt McLellan. He swarms but can’t finish. They trade strikes with both guys landing and looking sloppy and tired. McLellan briefly gets the takedown, but Alessio is back up and trading strikes.
Rd 3 – and McLellan comes out aggressive landing punches but quickly starts to fade. Alessio lands a takedown 1minute into the round, gets mount then takes the back. He’s a bit too high on the back as is shaken off and on his back for just under a minute. Back to their feet and McLellan is exhausted. Alessio starts pressing and landing hard strikes. McLellan can barely defend and clinches, looking for continuous takedowns but no go, eating elbows. Alessio gets taken down and ends on his back trying to get up.

MAY 2016 – VS MAGNUS CADENBLAD

RESULT – LOST VIA 2ND RD TKO STRIKES

Analysis
Rd 1 – McLellan lands a couple leg kicks. Magnus connects with a body kick. Not much action… McLellan just dancing on the outside, not engaging. Magnus starting to pick his shots. Countering leg kicks with overhand rights that are landing.
Rd 2 – Magnus beating McLellan at his own kicking game. Head kick partially blocked, but it clearly hurt as McLellan winces and ducks his head, Magnus steps in landing stooping uppercuts, and its stopped! Standing TKO!

OCTOBER 2015 – VS BUBBA BUSH

RESULT – WON VIA 3RD RD TKO

Analysis
Rd 1 – Front kick misses. Head kick misses. Bush pushes forward, taking McLellan to the cage. McLellan showing better takedown defence, but Bush still gets it. McLellan continues to go for front head lock, to counter takedowns – Bush easily gets his head out. They’re back standing. Bush gets the takedown, and controls. McLellan this time trying to counter with a Kimura that he doesn’t have. McLellan finally able to scramble up, and immediately goes for a RNC pulling guard. He doesn’t get it.
Rd 2 – Bush looks tired. McLellan throwing single strikes from distance. Bush easily takes McLellan down, but cant control and hes back up. Bush controlling against the cage, and looks to drag McLellan to the ground, but McLellan illegally grabs the cage and is able to end up in mount. McLellan now doing damage, postured up landing big hammer fists and elbows.
Rd 3 – Bush exhausted. McLellan comes forward landing an uppercut. He gets the double leg against the cage. McLellan manages to finish Bush with some brutal punches on the mat.

APRIL 2015 – VS BARTOSZ FABINSKI

RESULT – LOST VIA 3 RD UN DEC

Analysis
Rd 1 – Fabinski presses forward. They clinch against the cage. Fabinski lands knees, before McLellan reverses and controls.They exchange knees. Fabinksi reverses position, shoots for a double leg and gets. McLellan able to scramble up, but Fabinksi slams him back down. Fabinksi constantly landing short shots. He passes to side. McLellan gives up his back. Fabinksi has hooks in. McLellan able to stand and separate. He lands a jab, before Fabinksi shoots back in and gets another takedown. McLellan again able to stand, an uppercut suddenly drops Fabinski!, hes straight back up and looking for a double leg, McLellan this time sinks in a RNC, as Fabinksi takes him to the mat. He trying for it, but its pointless, and eventually Fabinksi pops his head out.
Rd 2 – Fabinksi comes forward. McLellan head kick blocked. Fabinksi shoots and gets it. Again, McLellan is able to scramble up. He reverses and looks for a takedown, doesn’t get it. Fabinksi defends and gets a takedown and controls for the remainder of the round
Rd 3 – Fabinksi shoots, McLellan defends and they exchange shots in the clinch. This entire fight has been on the cage. Fabinksi gets another takedown. Minimal damage. McLellan back up. Fabinksi gets another takedown. The pattern continues a few more times for the rest of the round.
